One of my WD20EADS makes continuous seeking noises. It runs well, has excellent smart values and succeeds in any surface test, but it seems the head just keeps positioning. There is not a single second were those noises disappear. It does not matter whether the sata-cable is connected or not. As soon as the drive gets power, the seeking starts and never ends.
I have three of those drives and the other two do behave different. So this is for sure not normal. Any suggestions? Is it better to make use of the warranty? Or just keep using the drive (although thouse noises are very annoying in the long run)?
