My laptop has slowed down since installation of WD mybook. The backup log shows It is constantly backing up unknown “temp” files and also lists “WD Anywhere Backup Has Been Backed up” like every 10 seconds, although there is no work being done in the computer. How do i stop WD from doing this.

WD Anywhere Backup should allow you to pause it. Then you can run the backup again when you want to do a backup. I would also run the verify backup option, just in case it doesn’t pick up all of your new files.
