Connecting WD-Black to Linux system

Really wish that WD and other mfgrs would pay more attention to Linux. My 8TB external drive arrived with the only documentation a tiny graphic on how to connect it. Not adequate for Linux.
Linux does not use the exfat filesystem natively that I’m aware. A plugin needs to be installed. At the terminal,
sudo apt-get install exfat-fuse exfat-utils
which installs the drivers necessary. Seems to work then. You may need to unplug the usb cable and plug it in again.
