Conflcit with Other drives and Hardware

When I am connected to my home network, upon which my World Book Eternal hard drive is connected, none of my laptops other drives will work (USB, card reader, webcam, etc…).  If I am disconnected to the network everything works as it should.  ALSO, My laptop will not shut down without forcing it by holding the power button.  I am running Windows 7 and I understand there are conflicts.

Can anyone offer some suggestions??

Hello, I too have the same problem as you described. My OS is Vista.

Western Digital Folks, any remedy from you guys?

Try remapping your network drives its common that they are trying to obtain the same drive letters changing the drive letters then connecting the drive should be the fix. Let me know what happens
