I have 2 My Book Duo 8tb external drive units that I have configured in Raid1 and both units are maxed out on space and I would like to put in a drawer one of the drives from each unit as an archive and then put the remaining individual 4tb drives together in one of the external units but not use them in the Raid1 configuration but use them individually in the JBOD configuration but when I try to do this there is a box I need to check to change the configuration of the unit and it states that by changing the configuration it will permanently erase all data on the drive, how else can I use the enclosure for these 2 drives without erasing them, thanks
Unfortunately, there is no way to change the RAID level without erasing your units. This is standard RAID volume behavior.
