Hello, my father lost the charger for his WD and I thought that the best idea is ask to the community what kind of charger I should use in order to power up this external HD without damage.

The My Book Studio uses a 12 Volt / 1.5 Amps / 18 Watts power supply
Tip will be Positive
Barrel/Plug Size i’m unsure about, but other My Books are 5.5 x 2.5 mm
You would assume WD would use the same size for all the My Book range
But, contact WD Support if you want to 100% confirm.

I have a charger that fit into the motherboard but the charger has 12 Volt / 2 Amps /24 Watts
I found a user manual but I don’t find the especs for this charger…
