Changing the device name always leads to disapearing from the Network environment - why that?

Hello everyone,

whenever I try to change the device name from “MYCLOUDEX2ULTRA” to just “MYCLOUD”, it disappears from my Network environment, and I cannot get it back.

I then needs a ‘reset to default’ to make it accessible on the Windows7 file explorer again.

Did anyone experience a similar problem or knows a solution to that problem ?

Do you have the unit with a static Ip or dinamic?

Its does not disappear. May be the broadcasting services stopped. A simple reboot to NAS unit will kick in the broadcasting feature.
