Can't restore to a different machine

Hi

My PC just died, so I am trying to restore my backup to a new machine (the reason I bought this software) but it’s not happening.

I’ve followed the instructions here: https://support.wdc.com/knowledgebase/answer.aspx?ID=12937

but every time I uninstall and reinstall WD Backup, it doesn’t go through the setup process, it goes straight to the normal page, and tells me there are no backups to restore.

I’ve uninstalled the entire WD suite & rebooted the machine and it still does it - can anyone help, at the moment as far as I can see this device is just an expensive brick …

You can also manually transfer (Copy & Paste) all the backup files from the drive to your new computer. Please refer to the link given below in order to know how to view or access data backed up with WD SmartWare or WD Backup.

But, if you want to restore the files using WD Backup and it is showing you no backups to restore then you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this.
