Cant open my WD passport

please help me open my WD 500gb

when i click unlock this message appears on the screen.

“You must run the unlock application from the WD Smartware CD associated with the drive you want to unlock. Click exit, locate the related WD Smartware CD, and then run Unlock to unlock the desired drive.”

why is this happening? i cant open please help asap.ty

I feel for you - I have the exact same problem.  Its driving me mad.

Can anyone please shed some light on this issue.

Installing all the wd software doesn’t help, as the drive is locked wd softwares will not recognise it.

I don’t get why this is happening I used the drive last week no problems.

Anyone?

I found that I can use the drive on an old xp machine, the unlocker works without the error message given above.  

Howver still no joy for the win7 64bit machine.

I am a new member and would like to know why my WD passaport 500 gb does not open. My computer does not recognize the HD.

Is this possible to revert?

How can I open the HD?

I would like to have someone to help me.
