Can't edit contents of my WD passport on Mac

Hi,

I’ve backed up my pc files on to my new WD My Passport Essential 500 GB Arctic White Portable Hard Drive (USB 3.0/2.0)

Now I’m trying to edit its contents at work on Mac and it doesn’t allow me to delete anything as well as add anything new. It works fine on the original PC which I’ve used first.

Any ideas?

If the drive works fine out of the box on a PC then the drive is formatted NTFS; Macs can’t natively write/modify NTFS drives, so either format the drive to FAT32 or install NTFS-3G on the Mac.
