Can't connect to router-don't know where to turn

New guy here.

I recently bought a Linksys E4200 along with a Netgear WNDA3100 USB adaptors.

I’m trying to get my WD TV live Plus to see the router and of course it won’t.

I don’t know where to begin troubleshooting first. The WD network setup screen is not the same as pictured online. I have NO wireless option for setup. Just AUTOMATIC or MANUAL. Neither one works.

I enter my IP address, gateway etc…go to Check Connection and everything I entered is zero’d out.

The instructions for the WD live and the USB adaptor are as clear as mud!

What am I missing?? Do I look at the router settings? Adapter settings?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

If the WD doesn’t bring up the Wireless setup, then the adapter you have isn’t supported.

Netgear Wireless USB Adapter WNDA3100 Not Listed*

According to WD’s list the adaptor IS supported.

Chances are you got a different revision of the WDNDA3100.   There’s two of them, and the one WD tested was the first revision.

You probably have the one that looks like this:

instead of this:
