Can't access My Cloud on the desktop after Mac system re-install

I recently had to format and restore the internal drive on my iMac. (I had a fairly recent backup.)

I can access My Cloud through the web interface, but the drive doesn’t appear on the desktop, and I can’t get TimeMachine to utilize it (I can select the Time Machine volume in TM preferences, but after a long time “preparing backup” it seems to fail.)

WD Discovery say I should sign in, but when I try to, the sign in box displays a spinner, but does not progress, even after several hours.

I have the latest version of WD Discovery, and I’m running the latest Catalina version. I have tried rebooting the drive, and restarting the computer.

What to do?

@John_Nolan Have you already looked at this?

I can’t even get that link to work!

And I can’t figure out how to get to the “dashboard”. All the help links I click eventually just take me to the web file browser: is that the dashboard?

@John_Nolan Is this the WD My Cloud device that you own? WDMyCloudImage

No, it’s a MyCloud Home 4tb:

@John_Nolan The My Cloud Home is a completely different device with different options/settings than the My Cloud. If you haven’t done so already you may want to see the dedicated My Cloud Home subforum where people more familiar with that device may be able to assist.

Thank you. I appreciate your help.
