I recently installed the WD NAS drive on my network. My MAC, Windows 7 PC, windows 10 PC see the new folder I created on the drive. On my windows 8.1 PC I cannot see that folder. I only see the default “music” “photos” “videos” folders.
I’ve disabled the Windows firewall and McAfee firewall on this PC. Any ideas on why this one PC doesn’t want to see the new folder in file explorer?
If all you see is music, video and photos folders (especially if, under these folders, you see virtual, rather than physical views of the files), I suspect you’re looking at the media server, not the file server.
