Cannot activate the WD Smartware Pro license

I am looking for a solution to activate my WD Smartware Pro license. I already found out that one needs to disconnect the drive from the laptop but still I can’t activate the newly bought license. the message is: An error occurred while validating your activation code, Try again later.

Drive: My Passport 07A
WD Smartware version: 2.4.12

Can anyone help me?
