I am not able to access the web interface on my WDTV Live SMP from my mac. In Windows if I go to “network” then double click on the WDTV live icon it brings me to the web interface.

Your slashes are backwards. Use \, not //.
I assume you are referring to the “wdtvlive” entry. Your post, while short is lacking many details. For example, \ would indicate I am connecting to a server and should therfore drop the HTTP. I tried that after you mentioned it and it failed. Anyone else have any ideas?

but neither method works. I have tried accessing it from multiple browsers. Any thoughts as to what may be going on here?
What exactly do you mean by “access it”?
To do what?
Cheers
I mean the web page will not display. it says that it cannot connect to the server. the IP address is 100% correct because of a DHCP reservation I made in the router for the WDTV.

Then explain, it either does or doesn’t bring you to the web interface!
The only way I access the interface is through the default password, or am I completely on the wrong path.

You are on the wrong path. The first sentence said " from my mac“. The second sentence said " in Windows”. But now neither are working.
