My thought is that the download would just be a lot slower. But maybe so slow as not to be practical.
my USB3 drives work fine with USB1 and 2
USB2 is painfully slow and USB1 is excruciatingly slow … no, not practical, unless you have a ton of free time and the patience of a saint.
