I received a Passport external drive for Christmas. I would like to use it both as an external drive to hold all our photos, and as a backup for my computer. Is it possible to do both? If so can someone explain the steps to me? I just installed it and back up my computer, but if I need to erase data & reformat that’s fine.
Certainly you can use the drive as a storage unit and also use the backup application, for example you can create two different partitions use one for the software and the other for storage. I found this WD article I think it will guide you to the right path.
