Can i use Windows/Dashboard to upgrade the Firmware of a ext4 formated drive?

I’m a linux user for the most part but i also have Windows installed on another drive.
A few days ago i booted Windows and saw (through the Dashboard Software) that there is a Firmware Update available for my Linux NVMe drive (SN770). Since there don’t seem to be any other Option available to update the Firmware (other than the Dashboard Software) i now ask myself is it safe to update the firmware through the Dashboard software on that drive although the Drive is using the ext4 Filesystem?
