Can I use the WD Elements Portable HD (WDBU6Y0020BBK-EESN) on a white macbook?

I would like to remove the drive from the case and increase my storage on the macbook, then use the case for the current drive on the mac. I guess I void the warranty by doing this.

I’m also interested in a 3 tb My Cloud, wondering whether WD has sorted out the issues widely reported on amazon reviews and elsewhere? Thanks.

Hello,

You are correct, by removing the drive from the external case you will void the warranty on the Elements drive. It is also possible that installing your current Mac drive on the Elements case does not work since this is not supported.
