Im using a gen 1 MyCloud, how can I run a custom script on boot up?
Look at the /etc/rc2.d/S98user-start script. It is what some people are using. You can search the forum for more information,
Greetings! Realise your post was a few years ago, but did you have any success running a custom script (command) at startup?
I’m trying to do the same thing. I want to start the rsync daemon when my old MyCloud Gen 1 starts up; I’m using it as a backup host.
You should be able to put you stuff in /etc/rc2.d/S98user-start. It gets run near the end of initialization
Cool! I got there. I had to make the file executable for it to ‘run’ at startup (used chmod). I also had to figure that all the files in /etc/rc2.d are symbolic links.
I probably should have mentioned that but I haven’t used my MyClouds in a few years.
