I have a MyCloudMirror Gen2. I was having a few problems with it and I started thinking about my data and its safety.
So the question is;
If the MyCloudMirror OS doesn’t start for some reason, can I take a drive out and connect it to a pc and read it or is there some proprietary file system in use? (the drives are mirrored, if that matters)
It uses the Linux-based EXT4 file system. It is not supported (Natively) by Windows.
On the other hand, even if you use a compatible Linux system or use a file system reader application, your RAID level needs to be considered. You will not be able to access a Span or RAID 0 volume.
