Can a My Book drive reset itself to the original partition setup?

I used a 8TB My Book as a holding place while migrating some hard drives in FreeNas. I blew away the ntfs partition on the My Book and setup a UFS partition. I was able to backup everything to the drive with no issues a few days ago. Finished the migration last night and this morning plugged the drive into the machine. I couldn’t mount the ufs partition. Checked and instead of the ufs partition I’m now seeing an ntfs partition. The WD files and apps that came installed on the drive that I blew away are now back. Can the My Book restore the original setup if it sees a partition it doesn’t recognize?

It is not possible.
