Bug WDTV Live SMP Hard Disk stays ON

After the WDTV is powered down, the hard disk remains on, causing the device to get very hot.  I have the latest firmware (1.07.18).  The same hard drive works perfectly fine on the older generation WDTV Live (no wireless) and powers down correctly when the device is turned off.  On the WDTV SMP however, the light stays on, the disks are still spinning even an hour after the WDTV turned off.

Hard drive is Seagate freeagent goflex 1.5tb (STAA1500100)

First, you’re in the wrong forum.   This forum is for the 2009 model WDTV Live.

The forum for the WDTV Live SMP is here:   http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Streaming-Media/ct-p/wdtvlive_streaming

2nd:  You’re not turning it off.  You’re putting it in Standby.

The older WDTVs actually did shut the power down.  The new ones stay online so that you can access the disk via the network.

If you want to turn it OFF, you need to EJECT the disk, and then hold the remote power button down for more than 3 seconds.
