Blue LED burned out

Hi,

Noticed that my Blue LED (gen 1 mycloud) wasn’t lit. Unit still working as can access shares. Ethernet lights working. Also the other color LEDs are working.

Anyone else have this happen?

Ok. I found this thread LED light is not on anymore - #2 by cpt_paranoia

Must be burned out. I went into dashboard and cycled the setting but it made no difference.

Just checked the
/sys/class/leds/system_led/color
/sys/class/leds/system_led/blink

and the brightness value is set to 0. Do you suppose this is the problem, and if so how did it get set?
Max brightness is 255 and blink is on.

leds can burn out. mine have gone for month.

My brightness is also zero. But the led is working and shows up as blue.

Thanks.

My suspicion is that those files are merely an attempt to record what the LED settings are; they are not the actual values used to control the LEDs (which will be set via a hardware register somewhere). If I were writing the system, the LEDs would have a driver somewhere in /dev. And, even then, it might well be write-only (hence keeping a copy of the settings in /sys).

So it’s entirely possible that there is a complete disconnect between those settings, and the LED drive controls…
