Opinions on the best way to setup G-Raid 8TB Thunderbolt 3 for use with my MacBook running OS X Sierra. This drive will be used as external storage for my photos libraries, music libraries, video libraries etc… and will be backed up to a 3TB Time Machine and a Synology NAS running RAID 5. I’m conflicted as to whether I should set the G-Raid as a Raid 1 array or JBOD. Also, if I choose JBOD will I see two separate drives then be able to use something like CCC5 to automate copies?
Yes if you set it to JBOD both drives will mount as individual disks and you can do with them whatever you wish.
