As the WD Live doesn’t (and never will) support the DV format used by DV camcorder tapes, can anyone suggest the best format (codec/container) to convert my dv avi files to that will play successfully on the WD Live. I’m not concerned about storage just quality i.e. nearest to original dv quality. Thanks.

The MKV container with H264 would be the best, IMHO.
