Best external drive for photo data

My iMac fusion drive has died and I am going to replace the internal disk with an SSD for just the system and applications.

I would therefore like to use a fast external WD drive (4 or 5 tb) for the data, connected via USB 3. I guess that’s a 7200 rpm drive but I can’t find any spin speeds for the WD disks on the web site. Can anyone advise?
