For the past six months I have been faithfully using the WD Backup software to make a backup of all my files and folders on my WD My Passport Ultra. Today my laptop had to be completely re-imaged and it was completely clean and like new. When installing the WD Backup software, choosing the tab ‘Restore’ it would not select my HD as there had been no previous backups. However, I can discover the backed up files while drilling deeper into the ‘WD Backup.swstor folder’, but they are only about 1KB in size and seem encrypted.
I continued by setting up a first backup for my fresh PC, now I can select one of the locations to restore from.
However, when I choose ‘My Documents’ in the list that says “View Files From” it only shows the backup I did today.
How can I restore from the backup that was still active two days ago?
