Backup failures with Smart Ware trying Macrium Reflect

I have a WD My Cloud 4TB Personal Cloud Storage – NAS, I have not been able to complete a backup of my desktop files without problems.

The main problem that occurs is “Files Not Backed Up”. When I view the files, I see a message stating “The process cannot access the file because it is being…” or “Access of the cloud file is denied”.

I was told to go to this web site WD Smartware: Supported File Types which showed a multitude of file extensions that may cause the problems.

I configured the WD Smart Ware to only backup Documents, Music, Pictures and Videos I would think these files would be standard extensions that would not cause a problem.

I have decided to just a different backup software Macrium Reflect 7 and image the disk.

Macrium Reflect 7 tries to create the image with a file extension ‘.mrimg’.

Macrium seems to have a problem talking to the NAS could the extension ‘.mrimg’ cause a problem?

Has anyone tried to create an image using Macrium to the NAS drive?

Thanks
