Just installed my passport ultra 2 TB; works fine on my desktop PC (Windows 8 pro) with continuous all categories back up. However, the drive will not work in the same way on my laptop ; the laptop is running Windows 8.1. Has any user had similar problems with 8.1…

Hello ron2fs, welcome to the WD Community. Have you tried different USB ports on your laptop? Some manufacturers only offer full voltage on some of the USB ports. Also be sure to avoid using any type of USB extension cables or USB hubs, since these can cause problems.
