All video/audio files were working 30min ago now everything comes up blank after selecting and pressing play. Almost like the files are in the wrong format but they were all working perfectly just before. I have tried using both HD and standard method. Any ideas?

You could try the standard approach of first of all unplugging the power and leaving it off for a few minutes. Then trying a reset - both on the side button and the reset to factory defaults in the internal menu. The WDTV may have got hung up trying to play one of your files.
