Assistance Needed: Data Transfer from My Cloud EX2 Ultra with Spanned Drives

Hello Community,

I’ve been using My Cloud EX2 Ultra with a 2x4TB HDD setup in spanning mode for a couple of years. Now, I need to replace the hard disks with a single 14TB drive.

Since the drives were set up in spanning mode, I’m facing challenges connecting them individually to my Mac for data transfer to the new drive.

Does anyone have insights or suggestions on how I can effectively copy all the data from the old drives onto the new 14TB drive?

Your expertise and advice would be highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Hi @LunaLoomer ,

Thanks for your reply

So. . .let us know if WD support actually helps.

How do you intend to use the 14TB drive? As a single drive installed as a JBOD volume?

Regardless. . . .I don’t think I know how to do this with using a backup drive (Copy to backup; then copy to new drive). OR - - using another EX2 ultra box.

The issue is that upon insertion, the instinct of a WD NAS box will be to either “Import a volume from another WD NAS” or “Reformat”.
