ArmorATD can't connect to Thunderbolt 4 port on MacBook Pro 16 (2021)

I have a 4TB ArmorATD drive with a USB 3.1 Gen 1 port and the supplied USB-C cable. I just purchased a new MacBook Pro 16 2021 with three Thunderbolt 4 ports. I cannot physically connect the drive to the Thunderbolt 4 port. Thunderbolt 4 is meant to be backward compatible with USB and I can connect it to my wife’s MacBook Pro 13 with Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Do I need a different cable?

Hi, I got same issue!
I tried to connect this drive to my Mac Mini M1 with a Thunderbolt 3 cable and it does not work… even not run… Did you find a way to solve it?
