Are these discontinued?

I only see the “media player” on their website :frowning: .  I bought a Streaming off of eBay as a demo and thought it was the Media Player (without NetFlix). I already have a discontinued Plus and had a Hub until it was fried by lightning last May :frowning: . I was able to salvage its hard drive and put it in a USB box to connect to the Plus  . Anyways I’m wondering how much longer any of these will be made especially as you can’t set one of these up through a router - it has to be directly connected to the modem for the locaton thing to work if you want Hulu etc to work :frowning: .

I also have Roku units as I need Amazon access plus the Hulu Plus app on the Roku is FAR superior to the one on the WD’s :frowning: .  Unfortunately one of my Rokus also had its HDMI port fried in the lightning strike but the conposite output works, The Component output may also work, I have the weird cable for it on order. I also lost a port on my router, my cable modem, my Moxi DVR, and my 46" flatscreen :frowning: . Kinda funny, my poor router also lost another port a couple years back when lightning also fried my Replay TV DVR’s ethernet port - so it’s down to the WAN port and two LAN ports LOL.

Who says?   I’d bet 99% of people here use their WDs behind a router with no issues…

I should have been clearer - you can’t get Hulu et all to work with the latest firmware unless you direct connect to get the location set in your WD - once done you can then run behind the router. Probably not a problem for yous guys that were already “located” when you upgraded but out-of-the-box mine did a firmware update and then was useless for streaming services. I suppose if I have “located” it first before the update I’d have been OK? But i suspect 99%+ of new purchasers are juts gonna retunr it as “broken” or live with the lack of streaming services.
