Any news on new firmware release?

I am putting it out there that this is my last wd product I will buy. I am sorry that this happened, but lack of support is just horrible. As an IT manager, I just think it’s ridiculous that a company would do that. This is wd’s last hope to make things right. I own 14 wd live streaming devices and I’ve installed them around the company building. When are we going to receive a new firmware that fixes memory leak?

Please see my post on raising a support ticket:

I’m not very hopefull it will make any difference, but I believe if we want any chance of getting any reaction from WD, we need to let them know there is a problem…!

Haven’t had much support from other users as yet (actually, none) but there you go…

(For what it is worth, my support ticket is progressing, they have now asked me for an example troublesome file…)

Thanks! will do!

I want to ask a question about memory leak

I just for the first time experienced screen freezes and then after reboot a warning my memory was running low and to restart unit to avoid problems with playback of video files.

I assume (hate that word) I suffered from memory leak?

Thanks

As sad as it is, I would suggest rolling back to 2.01.86 firmware on your units if you haven’t already. This has been the most reliable firmware version for me and I use my units almost daily.  I’ve posted my opinion in other threads on WDs inaction on the last firmware’s bugs so I won’t waste any more breath here…or holding it waiting for them to fix it any time in the near future.

Best of luck and if you need rollback instructions…Joey Smyth has some great ones posted in other threads.
