seeing as the hard drive installed in your my cloud home is rather noisy it would be nice to have a schedule shutdown and restart function added to the settings (just like all other professional NAS systems).
Unfortunately the My Cloud Home (MCH) is and has always been a personal cloud storage system and was never advertised as a ‘professional NAS’ to replace any NAS. It is one of the cheapest personal cloud storage available and there are many owners who tried to use and abuse it as a professional system, but in the end, it is limited by the operating system (OS4, a severely limited OS), the SMR hdd in the MCH and available RAM to be used as a professional NAS.
One of the early suggestion for the MCH for shut down and restart is to use an inexpensive remote switch.
