The computer I had “my book essentails back up drive” to, crashed. Now I want to retrieve the info from the back up drive. Will the “wd” also have the damage or virus on it? And if I down load or recover my info, am I infecting the new computer?
You will have to scan the external before coping anything from it. I would also recommend using MBAM free http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free I would do both scans from safe mode. Do you kow what virus caused the problem?
