Advice Please on Failing HD

Hi,

I was directed here by the great guys at MajorGeeks.com.

I have a 250GB WDC WD25 00JS-00NCB1 SCSI Disk Device that has started to fail the Lifeguard test. It passed the quick test but failed the long test.

I was told that I might need to clone the drive and RMA it, could someone please help explain this a little further for me?

Thanks in advance,

I never used a cloning tool but it makes an exact copy of your drive.

Install your new HDD then copy your old drive to it.

If you don’t get a satisfactory answer soon.

The guys on the forums will assit you further.

Remember that cloning a drive with bad sector, which seems to be your case, might end in a bad copy, if part of your data is corrupted, because of the bad sector, then when you clone this drive, it will copy the corrupted data, be careful.
