I have a 1 TB WD Green (WD10EARX) drive, installed as a secondary hard drive in a system running XP SP3. I partitioned and formatted it using XP, then learned that aligning the partitions is recommended. After many unsuccessful attempts I managed to download Acronis. It reports the partions are not aligned, but also says the drive isn’t Advanced Format and that there’s nothing to do. Should the partitions be aligned? And if so, how do you get Acronis to align them when it says there’s nothing to do?
Hi, your model is an advanced format drive. So to have better performance under windows xp you need to align it. Check the link below to review the steps.
