I used Smartware to backup my laptop to Mycloud. Sometime, I need to remotely grab files from Mycloud. The problem is that Mycloud is behind a router which I couldn’t forward port so I couldn’t access it by SCP. The only solution I find now is the official mycloud web page. But smartware is not shown in that webpage. I don’t want to switch to WD sync. Is there any solution?

Yes. Currently you can use either the My Cloud Desktop program (http://setup.wd2go.com/index.php?mod=download&device=mc) or the insecure FTP option to access the Smartware and TimeMachine folders that are hidden by the MyCloud.com remote access user web portal. Note that to setup FTP requires enabling FTP through the My Cloud Dashboard > Settings > Network page and configure port forwarding (generally port 21) in the network router the My Cloud is connected to.
