Accessing Photos on iPhone and I Pad

HI All
Hope you can help We can no longer access photos Via iPhone or I Pad we used to be able to access photos as a separate file and could sub divide into years and month. When trying to access in this way we receive a message Nothing there. Can anyone advise how to revolve this issue
Secondly on the MacAIr laptop photos are coming up as a blank screen rather then showing photo but can download a perfect photo from blank screen

No I keep getting various messages stating operation couldn’t be completed WDnetwork error 500 and theres nothing here yet.
Similarly I cannot seem to retrieve photos from my MacAIR Laptop.

No I am not the whole situation is very unsatisfactory . Have found the product very easy to use unto now and cannot understand what has happened and how to resolve the situation
