So, we recently got a WD My Cloud 3tb, and i really like it so far, the only problem is, that when i tried to connect in My Computer → Network → WD My Cloud, without any software installed, i can access all the files without entering a password.
Anyone else having this problem?
Well, that’s not a problem.
If you haven’t created any shares, then you must be putting files in the pre-created Public shares, which anyone can access.

The My Cloud software has nothing to do with it. Credentials are managed by the drive itself, not any software running on the PC.
If you aren’t being challenged for a user-id / password when accessing the share, then one of two things must be true:
1- The share is still set to public (which is the default).
2- The share is set Private and the User/Password match what you’ve set in Windows.
