Access root by SSH

I have My Cloud Gen 1 3TB and would like to access root account by SSH and Putty under windows 10.

I have enable SSH in dashboard. I remember that I could login by “root” as user and “welc0me” before.
However, the system response with access deny after I entered “root” as user and “welc0me” as password now. Would anyone advise how can I reset the root account of SSH? I don’t mind if I need to reset my cloud. Thank you for your advice.

root was replaced with sshd in a latest firmware updates … try that.

eg. login: sshd password: welc0me
