Access External HDD connected to Mac( Firewire 800) via Network Share on WD Live

HI ,

Been trying to find a solution to able to access my External hard drive which is connected to my Macbook Pro via network share on WD Live .

Any solution or way around.

I am able to browse the Mac HDD , but not the External HDD connected via Firewire to the Mac.

Any help will be of great use.

I used to be able to connect to my SMP drive from my OSX Mavericks. I upgraded to El Capitan and now cannot connect! Very similar. I am using ethernet also.
