A large temp file suddenly appeared on My Cloud EX2 Ultra

A large temp file suddenly appeared on My Cloud EX2 Ultra. I can’t delete file because when I try it says the file is in use. The file is in my pictures directory and is about 311,181 KB in size. This is the file name:

FSP3B2E5E6D65324CA59B92C48196A25F36.tmp

What is this file and how do I get rid of it?

Update: I was finally able to delete this file, but I’d still like to know how it got created and why/
