Lately, the forums have been flooded with SPAM posts, many of which appear to have been created using A.I. (Artificial Intelligence). The posts often look like authentic human-written text, but something usually feels off about them, and they always seem to pertain to hard drives and data recovery.
The SPAMMERS have even started creating new user accounts with posts asking for “help”, but they appear to be nothing more than the perfect setup for replying with “helpful” A.I. SPAM posts, designed to establish rapport with users to gain their trust. The SPAMMERS may also edit the posts later, to include SPAM links or to simply “bump” the post.
Before replying to a new user, it might be a good idea to dig a little deeper, and take NOTHING for granted. If you see SPAM posts, report them, and maybe one day WD will finally do something about the annoying SPAM scourge.
