I bought the G-Drive mobile USB-C portable hard drive approximately a year ago. I use it as a USB for my 2015 Macbook Air. I was transferring files a few days ago when I got the notification that my G-Drive wasn’t ejected properly when I didn’t even unplug it (I was in the middle of transferring files).
Whenever I plug it into my laptop, I hear the drive purring as if it was going to start up, and then after approximately 5 seconds, it silences. The white LED light stays on, but nothing more.
I tried unplugging it, and plugging it back in. Nothing.
I tried plugging it into other laptops within the house. Nothing.
The symbol no longer shows on my desktop, and I’m unable to find anything within my laptop to recover my old photos and files.
This is unacceptable for a 1-year-old, $140 product- it has years of photos, videos, documents and memories on it. I need THIS drive to continue working.
