hi new to this site i have a WD 1 TB harddrive that has decided not to work anymore and it s been conected wrongly to the the power suppy i m using a usb docking system when i place the HD in to itg the power light goes out the docking system works fine with other hard drives and a mate said its the circuit board thats been damaged does anyone know where and how much they cost or how much WD takes to repair it

You’re probably out of luck. They don’t sell replacement boards. The ones for drives with software and a password are encoded and not interchangable.

the usual problem is a shorted tvs diode thats an easy diy fix can you upload a detailed pic of the component side of your board btw can we see some punctuation next time
