the remote i recieved with the wdtv live i just purchased is IR. I have noticed a lot of posts referencing using Bose media center remote and Harmony remotes etc but none address how they do this when the wdtv live is an IR box. Am i correct in that it is an IR controlled box only or does it also accept RF signals? I want to put my wdtv live box in a cabinet but i can not operate it with the door closed with the IR remote that the box cam with. Ideas?

Because all but one of the Harmony remotes are IR, too. Harmony only makes one current RF remote.
Sounds like you may want to use an IR Extender.
