Hello, my 500gb hard drive doesn’t work on my deltech receiver for some reason, this is very worrying as one of the main reasons for buying the hard drive was using it to watch movies on my tv using the receiver. My sister has a 1tb WD hard drive and that worked perfectly on the deltech receiver, whereas mine seems to be over using the receivers power and slowing it down, the hard drive is recognized on the receiver but the contents are shown… Is there anyway to fix this? All feedback is appreciated.

It is possible that the receiver is not providing enough power to spin up the drive. USB drives require between 500 and 1000 mA in order to operate properly. Have you tried this drive plugged in to a computer?

It does work on the pc. But that doesnt make sense, my sister has a 1tb from WD and that works properly on the receiver.
